Reflection
In this workshop, I used Adobe Audition for the first time. I already had some practice with Adobe Premiere, learning how to make layers of sound and edit each one individually alongside a video. This time, it was only the audio part which made the task feel a lot easier than when I started stop motion abruptly. I'd say that is something I've improved on, looking at the material ahead of time and planning out what to do in line with my capabilities.
Brothers is a poem inspired by my best friend. We've both struggled with depressive disorders, his being Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and suicidal ideation. I wrote this poem when I was deciding whether or not I was going to university two years ago whilst he didn't see the point in the debts and extra work.
We have different approaches to life, are just different people in general and this poem was made to let him know that even if our paths are different, I'll always be looking in his direction. A phone call away.
To execute this task, I didn't do anything out of the usual, just being there in his room a Voice Memo recording playing. I was watching MHA, and he was playing Call of Duty Zombies with a friend from Secondary.
I believe Belbin's team roles (2010) where he describes how to perform optimally on a project, everybody must have specific strengths that they play to, I should've asked recorded my friend multiple times and gotten his cooperation when recording. He knew I was recording, but I didn't tell him when so the atmosphere would feel more natural. I see that in doing so, I may have hindered the quality on one of the sound layers and will improve on the next project.
